Change of Speaker – March Meeting

Our original speaker, Laura Cowie, has had to pull out from the March meeting at short notice and has been rebooked for 11 June.

Instead we will now have a talk from Chris Farr, an expert on folk music who collects songs from the middle ages to the present day. He also sings songs to illustrate his material!

March MUD Walk Cancelled

The forecast for the March MUD at Yelverton looks awful: strong winds & light snow, at 10:00 the temperature is forecast to be -1C but feeling like -8C in the 40mph winds.

Therefore the MUD walk is cancelled, which is the first time that a walk has been cancelled in four years.

Revised Parking at the Crowne Plaza

From the January meeting, Crowne Plaza have changed the parking arrangements on the day of the monthly meeting, following the installation of an automatic system where tokens are no longer used.

It will now be possible to park for free for three hours providing that the vehicle is registered at the hotel reception upon arrival. If the vehicle is parked for more than the three hours then a fee of £5 will be charged.

If you do not register your vehicle, or leave the car park after staying longer than 3 hours without paying the £5 fee, then a penalty notice of £100 will be issued.
